Chewing Gum

i dont see why we must sign in a log book before we buy chewing gum in singapore...

For example in Guardian, wanna buy a pack.

Then the pharmacist stopped me and said, please sign here.

I proceeded to say "yeah but even so they cant track me, i could just lie about my particulars and throw my chewing gum everywhere"

Pharmacist : (Irritated and pissed tone that she has to do this stupid proceedure) "Ya i know, thats why its Stupid....."

HUH.... ok... weird concepts that people have. even buying chewing gum have to put down particulars about yourself, name, IC number and phone number.

What are they gonna do? call you up and asked if you have disposed all ur chewing gum away properly? even so i can still lie... or what? Make a check on me to find that i have kept all my used chewing gum in my pocket before throwing them away in the bin? Er.... no thats gross...
