Be Humble or Be Humbled.
Luke 18:9-14
what are ur first impressions on e pharisee and tax collector?
pharisee: Hypocrite? some big shot?
tC: loser? cos he's a sinner?
loser is right, thats what e Jews viewed them as.... in their time, tax collectors worked for e Romans. Its like U working for e Japs in WW2 and tax ur Own ppl to fund e jap empire.
the pharisee on e other hand was a high noble man of the law, its like a Lawyer or doctor in our modern world context. A staunch follower of e law.
in vs 14 however Jesus says that the tC would be Justified rather than the Pharisee Even if the Pharisee gave Tenth of his income, fasted and did everything else better than the tC.
He (tc) was Humble to not even "Look up to heaven and to beat his breast in mornful spirit" Humility is the Key.
this is shown in: Luke 14:8-11
& 1 Peter 5:6
in 1peter 5:6,
it shows tt we are not doing it for Ourselves but its for they Glory of god tt all may see him in us. We do not use a tactic to BE HUMBLE in order for ppl to exalt us, instead we are Contented to be humble... not to do it cos we want attention... like go up to someone, "Eh eh im humble today", or to sit at the Corner and eye ppl and say tt "u know im real humble by sitting here"
therefore, u must know 1. To recognise tt ur a Sinner
2. To call upon God.

on saturday was on of e most reassuring days tt i ever had... i was in service, praise and worship. Kneeled and asked to be closer to Him cos i've backslided and have not been spending much time with him and doing unholy things in his sight. Was touched. i felt him cradling my head in his palms, holding me so gently... it was e most warmth and loveliest feeling tt feels so different as compared to a person holding ur head. He said, "I forgive u my child and i always will". sigh felt so relieved. :D and happy.
